Aapne kabhi na kabhi Telegram, Torrent ya kisi movie website par dekha hoga – movie ke naam ke aage likha hota hai BluRay, HDRip, WEB-DL, DVDRip, CAM, TS, SCR aur aap sochte ho – “Yeh sab hai kya?”
Aaj ke time mein, jab data cheap hai aur streaming sab jagah available hai, fir bhi kaafi log internet se movies download karte hain — kabhi storage ke liye, kabhi offline travel ke liye, aur kabhi “wifi slow hai yaar, stream nahi ho rahi” wali problem ke liye.
Simple shabdon mein, yeh sab alag-alag source aur quality formats hote hain jahan se movie ko extract (rip) karke online upload kiya jaata hai. Bas har ek ka quality level aur size alag hota hai.
1. BluRay / BDRip / BRRip
BluRay discs DVD ke baad aaye aur unhone quality ka standard hi change kar diya. BluRay print se nikala hua movie 720p, 1080p aur 4K resolution tak hota hai, picture ekdum crisp aur audio lossless. BDRip ya BRRip ka matlab hota hai compressed version of BluRay, jisme size thoda kam kar dete hain but quality kaafi retain rehti hai. Agar aapko cinema jaise visuals ghar par chahiye, ye best option hai. Downside bas ek hi hai – file size huge hoti hai, ek-ek movie 5GB se 30–40GB tak ja sakti hai.

Quality: 720p/1080p/4K crystal clear.
Size: 4GB – 40GB.
Pros: Best quality audio + video.
Cons: Very large size, slow to download.
2. HDRip
HDRip naam sunke lagta hai “High Definition” matlab BluRay jaisa, lekin reality thodi different hai. HDRip basically re-encoded WEBRip/WEB-DL hota hai, ya kabhi HDTV source se. Matlab ek tarah ka “compressed HD.” Dekhne layak hota hai, but agar aap sharpness compare karo toh WEB-DL/BluRay jitna clear nahi hota. Phir bhi size vs quality kaafi balanced hota hai, isliye Telegram/Torrent groups mein HDRip prints bahut common hain.

Quality: 720p/1080p HD, compressed.
Size: 1GB – 4GB.
3. WEB-DL
Aaj ke time ka sabse popular aur convenient format. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ jaise OTT platforms se directly extract kiya hua print. Isme koi re-encoding nahi hoti, isliye picture aur sound ekdum clean hota hai. Watermark nahi hota, subtitles proper hote hain. Quality BluRay ke near hoti hai lekin file size thoda kam. Agar aapko “download and chill” karna hai toh WEB-DL best hai.

Quality: Excellent (720p/1080p/4K).
Size: 1GB – 5GB.
4. WEBRip
WEBRip bhi streaming source se hi aata hai, lekin difference ye hai ki ye recorded/captured hota hai instead of direct download. Is wajah se thoda compression ya quality drop aa sakta hai. Kabhi-kabhi colors dull lagte hain, ya ek-do scenes mein glitch aa jaata hai. Phir bhi CAM se toh infinitely better hai. Aksar WEBRip jaldi aa jaata hai jab tak official WEB-DL upload nahi hota.
Source: Captured from online streaming.
Quality: Good, but not as clean as WEB-DL.
Size: 1GB – 3GB.
5. DVDRip
2000s ke era mein sabse popular format tha. Retail DVD se movie ko rip karke online daal diya jaata hai. Quality standard definition hoti hai (480p), lekin stable hota hai — na audience noise, na watermarks. Size bhi manageable hota hai (700MB–1.5GB). Hostel ke zamane mein ek CD = ek DVDRip movie hi standard tha. Aaj ke time mein outdated lagta hai, lekin purane movies ke liye abhi bhi mil jaata hai.

Quality: 480p (SD).
Size: 700MB – 1.5GB.

6. CAM
Sabse basic aur sabse jaldi release hone wala print hota hai CAM. Jab movie cinema hall mein chal rahi hoti hai, koi banda phone ya handycam se pura film record kar leta hai. Quality obviously bahut kharab hoti hai — picture shaky hota hai, screen kabhi seedha dikhta hai kabhi tilt, aur audience ki awaazein bhi record ho jaati hain. Kahin seeti, kahin taali, kabhi kisi ka sir aake screen block kar deta hai.
Yeh print sirf un logon ke liye hai jo kehte hain “quality chhodo, mujhe bas movie dekhni hai abhi!”
Source: Recorded in cinema hall using a handheld camera or phone.
Quality: Very poor (240p–480p), shaky video, audience sounds (claps, coughs, laughter).
Size: 400MB – 1GB.
7. TS (Telesync)
TS ek level better hota hai CAM se. Video toh wahi cinema mein camera se record hota hai, lekin audio directly theatre ke sound system se capture kiya jaata hai — matlab mic ko speakers ya projection booth ke sound source ke paas lagaya jaata hai. Isse awaaz thodi clear hoti hai, background noise kam hota hai. Picture abhi bhi average hi rahta hai, lekin at least dialogues samajhne layak ho jaate hain. Matlab CAM mein jo “echo + audience noise” milta hai, woh TS mein thoda kam hota hai.
Source: Recorded in theatre, but audio taken from direct feed.
Quality: Slightly better than CAM, but still not good.
Size: 700MB – 1.5GB.
8. TC (Telecine)
Telecine prints cinema ke reel se hi nikaale jaate hain ek special telecine machine se. Is wajah se picture framing aur stability zyada achhi hoti hai CAM/TS ke comparison mein. Quality generally standard definition hoti hai, kabhi DVD ke aas paas lagti hai, kabhi thoda weak. Lekin overall watchable hai, especially agar aapko jaldi movie dekhni hai aur CAM jhelna mushkil lagta hai.

Quality: Standard Definition, more stable.
Size: 1GB – 2GB.
9. SCR / DVDScr
Screener DVDs studios critics, award juries ya distributors ko dete hain taaki release se pehle feedback ya review ho sake. Kabhi-kabhi yeh copies leak ho jaati hain aur online aa jaati hain. Video quality DVD ke barabar hoti hai, lekin aksar screen par watermark likha hota hai: “For Screening Only”, ya kabhi scrolling text bhi chal raha hota hai. Kabhi-kabhi black-and-white scenes, missing VFX ya unfinished sound bhi ho sakte hain kyunki final print nahi hota.

Quality: Similar to DVD, but often has watermarks/messages like “For Screening Only.”
Size: 1GB – 2GB.
10. HDTV / HDTVRip
Jab koi movie ya show TV par premiere hota hai, usko digital satellite/cable TV se record kiya jaata hai. HDTV prints decent hote hain (720p/1080p), lekin aksar channel logo ya watermark aata hai screen ke kone mein. Kabhi-kabhi ads bhi record ho jaate hain agar cut na kiya ho toh. TV serials aur sports ke liye HDTVRip abhi bhi kaafi popular hai.

Quality: 720p–1080p.
Cons: Logos, ads, watermarks.

11. TVRip / PDTV / DVBRip
Yeh teeno formats ek hi family ke hain — TV se record kiye gaye prints. Pehle ke time mein jab OTT platforms nahi the, toh log television broadcast se hi movies aur shows record kar lete the. Tabhi ye terms popular hue the.
TVRip basically old-school TV se record hota tha — matlab analog broadcast. Ismein picture thodi blur, colors thode fade, aur kabhi-kabhi ads bhi rehte the agar cut nahi kiye gaye ho. Quality 480p ke aas-paas hoti hai. Aaj ke time mein ye format lagbhag extinct ho gaya hai.
PDTV (Pure Digital TV) ek step better hai. Ye digital TV broadcast se record hota hai, jisme signal stable hota hai aur audio clarity bhi thodi achhi milti hai. 480p–720p tak ka quality dekhne ko milta hai.
DVBRip Europe aur kuch Asian countries mein zyada common hai. Ye DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) source se rip kiya jaata hai — matlab directly satellite ya cable digital signal se. Quality kaafi clean hoti hai, kabhi-kabhi HDTV ke barabar lagti hai, lekin compression ke kaaran thoda softness aa jaata hai.
In teeno ka use aaj kal mostly TV serials, news clips, ya rare documentaries ke liye hota hai jo OTT ya DVD par available nahi hote. Agar koi purana show ya cricket match aapko online milta hai jiska likha hota hai “DVBRip” — samajh jao woh kisi ne digital TV se record kiya hua version hai.

Directly recorded from television broadcast — either analog (TVRip), digital (PDTV), or digital satellite (DVBRip).
PDTV aur DVBRip high-quality digital feeds se liye jaate hain, isliye picture stable hoti hai aur sound thoda clear.
Quality:
TVRip: Standard Definition (approx. 480p), color thoda faded, kabhi ads bhi record ho jaate hain.
PDTV: Better stability and color accuracy, usually 480p–720p.
DVBRip: Best among the three — from digital video broadcast, often close to HDTV quality (720p).
Size:
Usually 500MB – 2GB, depending on resolution and length of content.
12. R5 (Region 5)
Region 5 DVDs jaldi release hoti hain (Russia/Asia market ke liye), aur unse banaye gaye prints ko R5 bolte hain. Ye ek tarah ka shortcut hota hai movie ke early availability ke liye. Quality DVD jaisi hi hoti hai, kabhi thoda better, kabhi thoda worse. BluRay ya WEB-DL ke aage weak lagta hai, lekin CAM/TS se toh zyada achha hota hai.

Quality: Better than CAM, close to DVDRip.
13. Remux / BD25 / BD50
Ye hai asli king. BluRay ka untouched, uncompressed copy. Matlab jo disc par hota hai wahi aapke hard drive par. Lossless video, lossless audio, sab kuch original. Isliye size bhi massive hota hai (20GB–80GB ya usse bhi zyada). Sirf un logon ke liye jo home theatre setup rakhte hain aur chahte hain ke “theatre ghar par hi aa jaye.” Normal users ke liye ye overkill hai.

Quality: Original, lossless.
Size: 20GB – 80GB.
